Bubble Star for Windows 8 is the newest take on a classic game wherein the goal is to use strategy to burst as many bubbles as possible, completing different patterns and going through different levels.

Bubble Star for Windows 8

Games out there like Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and releases from Bethesda like Skyrim earn billions of dollars for every release. They are always highly anticipated, and without fail, they earn incredibly high ratings and reviews. However, there's still a giant niche out there for arcade-like games of old. Those low to mid-level graphics games with simple premises and easy controls still have a place in many hearts, particularly as it pertains to PC gamers. This is where a game like Bubble Star for Windows 8 finds ample appreciation.

Bubble Star has been around for a while, but a lot of people are probably more familiar with the similar versions of the game, like Pogo’s Poppit. Bubble Star itself remains relatively unchanged, other than some graphics upgrades. You're still popping bubbles, and the game is still far more difficult than it appears at first glance. Just when you think you can pop every bubble in one go, you find that you've just created more of a mess that you don't have enough time to clean up.

How Bubble Star for Windows 8 Works

In terms of a user-friendly interface, it doesn't get any simpler than Bubble Star for Windows 8. If you can click a mouse, you can play this game. It’s incredibly straightforward, which is just the way Bubble Star fans want it. Part of the fear many had when they heard it was coming to Windows 8 revolved around potential changes to the structure. Purists, you definitely don't have to worry in that regard. The controls remain the same, even though the bubbles now look a lot cooler.

The premise of the game is what sells. It's actually a puzzle game, even though it looks like something that would keep toddlers busy for hours. The aim of the game is to shoot a cannon at various groups of colored bubbles. If you’re able to build groups of three or more bubbles, they'll pop and take some of the pressure off you. However, if you fail to pop the bubbles, they keep building up and will eventually cross the line, which means your game is over.

As the game progresses, the levels get more and more difficult, and it becomes much harder to build groupings and to stave off the impending bubble invasion. You earn more points for speed and accuracy, but a high score doesn’t necessarily ensure that you'll beat the level. Hence, playing strategically beats playing quickly any day.
